Personal Introduction: Thomas presently is a PhD scholar in ICCAS and also a Lecturer at the Department of Chemistry, University of Calabar. He is a Physical Chemist with the objective of using some Nano catalysts for the Production of bio-renewable energy. His long-term goal is to develop a new and efficient catalysts which will be used to improve bio-renewable energy production. His research interest lies in the following areas; The Production of renewable energy (biomass, biogas, biodiesel, biofuel synthesis & application), Environmental impact studies, Corrosion and Adsorption Studies, Physical/Theoretical and Material Chemistry. He is a member of Physical/Theoretical Chemistry Research Group Unical & also member of the CAS Key Laboratory of Green Printing Research Group, Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Beijing, China.He is currently working on anti-icing materials.
He is highly passionate about the role of science in creating a better world and also working in a Development Advisory team that will provide innovative solutions to contemporary development challenges (Sustainable Development Goals). He has a strong commitment to strengthening Africa's human capital – especially through mentoring, educating the youths - to drive social and economic prosperity. This has informed him strong interests in the emerging technology sector in Africa and how it intersects with education, poverty eradication, employability, nonprofits and innovation.
Thomas Magu is a committed seasoned Lecturer & Researcher of Physical Chemistry (Bio-renewable energy), the young Scholar has authored and co-authored over 10 publications and scholarly research articles to his name, in reputable highquality peer-reviewed journals and has worked in collaboration with researchers in diaspora. This has paved ways for him to participate in several academic/professional conferences, workshops and symposiums locally and internationally.
